Making Connections on a Schematic
You can keep working with your project or open it from the Workspace and continue from where the previous step is completed.
Next, you need to create connections between component pins. This can be done very easily. Use the Place » Wire command from the main menus.
If you want to assign a unique name to a net (in our project, most of the nets will be given a unique name), put a Net Label after placing the Wire. In the Net Label properties, specify the name of the net that will be displayed on the schematic. Assign names according to the image of the schematic below.
Note: If you want to add several net labels with the same name but a different number (for example: D0, D1, D2...), you should press the TAB button after selecting the Net Label tool before placing it on the schematic sheet, which enables the pause mode.In this mode, configure the Net Name = D0, disable the pause mode (Enter or ESC) and start placing them.
On each schematic, there is a supply voltage and GND. These nets are marked with Power Ports.
Use a GND power port for the GND net and the VCC power port for the power net. In the properties of the Power Port, specify a name of the power net.
In this schematic, there is a differential pair with signals (D_N and D_P) that connects the connector J1 and IC U1. Be sure to put the Differential Pair directive on both of them .
It is necessary to correctly transfer the project’s differential pair data to the PCB editor. Complete this step by saving the changes locally (File » Save All) and to the Workspace (Save to Server).
Note: In some cases it is necessary to delete a part of a conductor when creating connections. To do this, click the conductor, and then click the desired segment again so that it is highlighted with red dots. Then click the Delete button to delete the segment.
To quickly create multiple copies of any primitive, such as GND port, select it and press Ctrl+R. In this case, the primitive will be attached to the cursor, and then you can place it in the desired places.
