What is the Requirements Portal?

Requirements Portal is a requirements management tool integrated directly into Altium solutions. It enables teams to create, store, and manage formalized Requirements, and link them to electronic designs and verification data.

Each requirement is traceable and connected to upstream system definitions and downstream design and verification artifacts—such as schematics, PCB layouts, and test cases—ensuring full visibility from system design through project handoff and certification.

Why Use Requirements Portal

Manage requirements in a shared workspace

Bring in requirements from Excel, Word, or PDF files and automatically convert them into structured data—no more version conflicts or outdated files.

Collaborate across engineering disciplines

All team members—systems, electronics, firmware, QA, and project management—access and edit the same requirements set with full traceability and change history.

Link requirements to designs

Connect requirements directly to electronic projects to establish end-to-end traceability and ensure everyone is designing to the latest specifications.

Plan and track verification

Link test cases and verification results to requirements to monitor coverage and compliance as design work progresses.

Generate audit-ready documentation

Export traceability matrices and verification reports from live project data to support project handoffs, audits, and certification workflows.
