BOM Portal

What's Next?

You've taken a BOM from import to order. Your next steps are below.

Collaborate with Design and Procurement

BOM CoDesign creates a bidirectional workflow between Altium Designer and BOM Portal. Engineers view procurement recommendations in the ActiveBOM panel and apply part changes. Procurement updates the managed BOM after the design changes and compares the design BOM against the procurement BOM before applying them. Both sides see updates, which removes the spreadsheet back-and-forth.

Manage BOM Releases

When your BOM is ready for manufacturing, create a formal release. Releases capture a snapshot at a point in time, let you compare versions and revert if something goes wrong, and export to CSV or Excel.

Configurable BOM lifecycle states and publishing to a PLM are available with Altium Agile Teams and Altium Agile Enterprise. Default states are Draft, Prototype, Production, and Abandoned.

Advanced Features

Consolidated BOMs combine multiple project BOMs for multi-board products, aggregate quantities for volume pricing and generate single purchase orders. Documentation

Parts in Use tracks which BOMs use a specific manufacturer part across your workspace, so you understand the impact before making part changes.

Part Library Management links BOMs to your component library for pre-approved parts, Internal Part Number support, and automatic Part Choices.
